THE ISLAND

reveals

Bali has been loved almost to the point of cliché. The crowded beach clubs, the traffic, and the influencer version of the island are all real. But they are only the surface. The Bali worth the journey sits just behind the obvious one. The island moves between coast and interior. The south is the energy: the surf breaks and clifftop bars of the Bukit Peninsula, the beach clubs of Seminyak and Canggu, the sunset crowds, and a polished, restless glamour. The interior is the soul. Around Ubud, the land rises into terraced rice fields, river gorges, and jungle, threaded with temples and the small daily offerings that set the island’s rhythm. This is where Bali still feels like itself. Come during the dry season, roughly April to October. We point clients to May, June, and September, when the skies are settled and the crowds are thinner. July and August are the busy peak, along with the stretch around the new year. The wet season, from November to March, brings afternoon downpours, but also the greenest terraces and the quietest resorts, for those who do not mind a little rain.
