About the destination

St Tropez carries a reputation it did not ask for. Before the yachts and the paparazzi it was a small fishing port, painted by Signac and the artists who came for its light. In the right season, that village is still there beneath the show. It runs at two speeds. There is the scene: the harbour wall lined with megayachts, the beach clubs of Pampelonne, the long lunches that turn into longer afternoons. And there is the village: the pastel houses of the old town, the morning market on the Place des Lices, and the hills just behind, where Ramatuelle and Gassin sit above the vineyards that make the region’s rosé. The first is what people come for. The second is what makes them stay. Come between May and October. We steer clients away from July and August, when the port is gridlocked and every price triples. May, June, and September are the sweet spot, with a warm sea, the beach clubs open, and room to breathe. By winter most of it closes, and the village quietly returns to itself.
